Wonderswan Color First Impressions/Short Review (FINALLY)

Ok, after waiting a crap ton of time for my Wonderswan and keeping it a bit of a secret here, it is finally in and the secret is out. For those of you who don't know what a Wonderswan is, it was basically Bandai's response to the Gameboy. I'm guessing that since Bandai owned a lot (yes, I realise that up until today I have been using a lot as one word and I just now caught my mistake... so shut up...) of famous anime at the time, or at least I'm pretty sure they did, then maybe they thought they would have a broader appeal in Japan alone what with anime not being as popular in America yet, which could be why they only released it in Japan but that is just my guess. Anyway, since it is a Bandai system there are plenty of licenced anime games for it, however, only one of the games I bought with it was licenced. Since I wanted to do a little review of the system I figured that if I wanted to buy two games with it, I would get a color game and a black & white game and I wanted to get a licenced anime game and just a regular game, so the two games I got were Klonoa: Moonlight Museum (probably the main reason I wanted a Wonderswan in the first place) and One Piece: Swan Colosseum (this is the color game). And so far, I actually like both, but if I had to choose right now one to play more of, I would say Klonoa, not because the One Piece game is bad, certainly not that, it's just that I haven't gotten used to the controls and whatnot yet so I'm sure it'll get addicting once I get the hang of it, but until then, Moonlight Museum is so far just like the first gameboy game so I really like, but we'll see how challenging those puzzles get later on in the game. Oh, also I scored this system and these games for pretty cheap, I got em on eBay from... hmmm... what was his name? I think it was game agora... or maybe there was an underscore between the words (like this game_agora) or something, I don't remember. Ok now let's get to the interface... or whatever you call it of the system, or just basically the system itself... whatever let's just get down to it, so it is A LOT smaller then I thought it would be, I mean for some reason I was expecting it to be the size of my Gamegear, but it's like the size of a Gameboy Advance. Oh and speaking of Gamegear, it has that weird screen lighting problem the Gamegear had but to a lesser extent with Klonoa, I guess that's because it is just a regular Wonderswan game. Also, the buttons are a bit weird, like it has the standard b first, then a like an NES controller, but instead of a d pad with just like arrows for buttons or whatever, the d-pad buttons are x buttons, like up is x1 and down is x3, then on top of that d-pad is another one with y buttons, where up on that one is y1 and down is y3, however I am guessing that with most games you use the x d-pad since so far the two games I played used them as the d-pad. Oh and it only runs on one AA battery, I don't know how fast the batteries get drained but it only runs on one of em so that is pretty convenient. I don't know what else to say... Hmmm... I guess that's it, and so far I am loving my Wonderswan, hopefully you can begin to look forward to some Wonderswan game reviews by me in the future. Oh snap, before I end this post, I just started a level of Klonoa where the screen turns sideways and you use the x d-pad as regular controls and the y d-pad as, well, a d-pad... so forget what I said about not using the y buttons I suppose.

Gaming Otaku Rant!

Ok so, I am kind of running out of ideas and was hoping for that little break on New Years to refresh the idea box but I felt bad taking two breaks almost in a row so I did a post that day anyway, so today's post will be about how some (2 series in particular) anime DVDs are just way to expensive for the small amount of episodes. Both of the examples I am going to list aren't this expensive at Rightstuf or Best Buy and the prices I am listing are the "Retail prices" of the DVDs on Rightstuf, not the Rightstuf or Best Buy price.

Example 1: D. Gray-Man DVDs
Price: $59.98 each half season (13 episodes)

Example 2: One Piece DVDs
Price: $49.98 each "voyage" (13 episodes)

Ok, well at least I would sort of consider buying those One Piece DVDs but $60 for 13 episodes of D. Gray-man, that seems like a stretch. I mean I don't expect to be getting each season for $25 since D. Gray-Man is pretty new, but I really can't set that money aside for 13 episodes without feeling like I kind of wasted my money a little, D. Gray-Man is really awesome but I only got the first season since it was over 50% off on Rightstuf for Christmas. I think I would be able to set aside $50 for the One Piece DVDs and not feel too bad since the Funimation dub is so awesome compared to the awful 4Kids dub. I am not sure what a good price would be for 13 episodes but I think $50 is ALMOST there. Another good idea would be to just sell them a whole season at a time for less of the price than the "voyages" or "parts" of that season combined, like sell the D. Gray-Man parts $60 each but have each season cost less than $120. At least I have Best Buy and Rightstuf to make it so that I don't have to pay the outrageous "Retail price" for these DVDs and I can afford them.

Sorry if this post seemed a bit short but I skipped a break and I am having a hard time staying awake as I am writing this.

3 Awesome Ideas for PS3 games (because of Blu-ray)

This is not a "the ps3 pwns everything else" list because I love my Wii and think the Xbox is awesome. This is a "A blu-ray disk can hold 50 freakin GB so can someone please take advantage of that to make an awesome game" I mean, a ps2 disk holds something around 2 or 3 gigs, and we got Tenkaichi 3, just imagine what you could do with 50 gigs. This is not a "top" 3 list technically because this is in no particular order. These games are obviously just ideas and will most likely never be made into a game.

Idea #1: Battle Stadium B.O.N.D. (Bleach, One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball)
Ok just hear me out, with 50 gigs you could take the roster of DBZ Tenkaichi 3, add some of the extra characters (like SSJ3 Vegita) from Raging Blast, then the roster from Bleach Heat the Soul 6 with a few more recent characters and releases, then the roster for One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2 with some more recent characters and characters like Pandaman, and then the roster of Naruto Accel 3 add some PTS characters and like I said before, more recent characters. Then have the graphics of your average PS3 game with like 10 stages from each series, some of which could be interactive stages (like in Blade Battlers 2nd). It could also have character customization, an awesome story mode, 4 player vs mode, mini-games, and online. You have to admit, it would be awesome to have Luffy, Naruto (future), Goku, and Ichigo all fight at the same time online would be pretty cool.

Idea #2: Bleach PS3 Game
Well Naruto got a PS3 game and Dragon Ball Z got two PS3 games, I want there to be a Bleach PS3 game. Whether it be Blade Battlers 3rd, or a Heat the Soul game on PS3, it should be made. Honestly the closest thing we have to a Next gen Bleach game is Versus Crusade, well actually... Versus Crusade was amazing so... anyway, back on topic, it would be awesome to have a Bleach PS3 game, and since SEGA doesn't like America getting the Bleach games made by Sony, the PS3 is Region free so people could import it with ease.

Idea #3: Gantz PS3 Game
Ok so after actually playing the Gantz game last year I realized how awesome the idea of a Gantz video game was, and how Konami could pull it off flawlessly. Now when Gantz ends (the manga is in the final phase) just imagine a Gantz game that was Co-op and went from the very beginning to the very end. Now the first time you play through story mode, whoever is supposed to die in the story, will die, but afterwards you could play in free mode, and for a character to die in free mode you actually have to die as them in a mission, however if you get 100 points you could of course bring them back, get a stronger weapon from the weapon room (like an H gun, Enhanced Gantz Suit, and Gantz Bike), or just leave the Gantz room and get the ending.

This list was fun to make so I may come up with more Ideas later. Remember I post every other day. Ahhh back to Akatsuki Rising, Katamari Forever, and Muramasa.

Finish What You Started! (Yes this is a Top 6 List)

Ok this list is gonna be 6 anime that need the sequal(Like Shippuden for an example but that's not on the list because it premeirs this October) to be localized, or even if just the movies haven't been localized.

6. .Hack Trilogy (Dubbed)
Well we got Trilogy subbed and it was awesome, but there was one problem... and well that problem was that with a voice acting cast as great as the .Hack G.U. cast it is quite a shame that we don't get a dub. I understand if the reason we didn't get a dub was because .Hack isn't too popular in the US but honastly all the great voice actors in G.U. are just taunting me.

5. Shin Chan Movies
Ok I just had to put this in with the tragic news I heard recently that the creator of Shin Chan died. The Shin Chan movies were really good, especially the one I actually saw that got a fansub, and with Funimation dubbing Shin Chan I want at least the latest to be dubbed or one of them, I mean come on the movie I saw was so good it was just like an episode of Shin Chan but alot longer, kinda like the Simpsons movie.

4. One Piece Movies
Yes, yes I know, we got the Alabasta movie... I mean for some reason every time I bring up the subject of the One Piece movies being localized people always respond with, "didn't we get the Alabasta movie?". Well yes, yes we did get the Alabasta movie, but did we get the other 8 movies? no. Well there is a good reason though, they are old and some of them wouldn't make sence because the earlier movies exclude some of the crew members who hadn't joined at the time. But what we need is a box set of all the One Piece movies dubbed uncut by Funimation, I for one would definatly buy it.

3. Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai
Well Geneon dubbed Koro Ni but where is Koro Ni Kai? Well I think I can explain this one simply, Higurashi probably had one of the smallest followings of a great anime dubbed in America right next to the fanbase for Gantz, Gankutsuou, and Desert Punk. I can think of a few reasons people would turn away from Higurashi... One is the Dub itself, at first it sounds like nails on a chalk board but then for some reason, and I'm not sure if this is just me, but after an episode or two I didn't mind the voices and it was as if they suddenly felt perfect for the role. Another reason would have to be the grousome and goreyness of Higurashi, alot of people see a few of the death scenes, freak out, and never want to watch it again when in reality Higurasi is more about the mystery and detective aspects, in fact it's pretty damn good if your a fan of Murder Mystery. I wish it had a better following so we could get the second part of the series.

2. Yu-Gi-Oh Season 0
Well if you are aware of season 0 then you know how awesome and badass it is, I mean even though it was made in 1998 (and it really does show) it's so awesome you just don't care. Basically since Yu-Gi-Oh means king of GAMES and not king of card games, season 0 is all about different awesome shadow games that Yami plays with people to teach them a lesson. Sure there are one or two Duel Monsters games in the anime but it's mostly about the awesome shadow games Yami plays and how people often end up cheating, and if you win but play by the rules you just have to keep whatever promise you made, but if you cheat, oh man you are in for it, and one reason the anime is so great is because you want to see what kind of way each cheater gets punished because they are always so unique. It's also alot darker than the other Yu-Gi-Oh series, especially Yami because in the other series Yami comes across as some kind of awesome, nice, never does anything bad like superhero, but in season 0 he comes across as like a dark punisher of evil and trust me if you saw the first episode you would know what I mean. Basically I hope that some company can buy Yu-Gi-Oh from 4kids and make a dub of this, even though that is extrememly unlikely I just wish it would happen.

1. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Well one of Funimation's most remembered dubbed series (I say one of because of Dragon Ball Z) has a sequal that follows the manga better and Funimation is legally subbing it, but will we get a dub? Since I have homework to do I'll make this quick, well Brotherhood is just Fullmetal Alchemist but at a faster pace (at episode 20 they were past the freakin Greed arc) and has no "filler" if you want to call it that. I really hope we get a dub and if we do I just know it'll be airing on Adult Swim every Saturday.

Remember I post every other day bla bla bla, thanks for reading.

Top 5 Anime Fighting Game Rosters

Ahhh anime fighting games, I love them, especially when they have enough characters to make the roster over the average fighting game. So this list will be games I have (well there is one of them that I am getting soon) with awesome rosters. Just a note, these totals count second forms of characters.

5. Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution 2

Total: 34
Well the reason this game made it on the list is because it has a pretty big roster, I'm pretty sure Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 had a little less so it would number 6 on the list. This game wasn't that good, it had a confusing character select screen and the character selection screen music was terrible, but it had alot of characters... oh and something I figured out... select Awakened Hinata and then look at the name above the life bar... if you have the game and hadn't noticed you will just think that Tomy is even lazier than ever.

4. One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2

Total: 48
Ok so I don't have this game yet but in October I will import the European version so it's not like I don't plan on getting it. The game has plenty of One Piece heroes and (even more) villains to choose from. If this game is anything like Unlimited Adventure then I know it is awesome and very hard. Hmmm what else is there to say? Well the characters range from the begining with characters like Buggy and Smoker to even Thriller Bark with Brook, Oz, and Gecko Moria. Uhhh... I guess that's it.

3. Naruto Accel 2

Total: 73
Oh man Accel 2 (aka Naruto Ultimate Ninja 6) I love this game and all of the other games in the series. I think it's awesome that in this game I can have future Sasuke vs Zabuza in a naruto game, I just hope that they keep all of the characters from Accel 2 in Accel 3 so I can fight Zabuza as Suigetsu. Anyway with all of the characters in this game you can only imagine that starting out with like 20 means you have to earn these characters and it is not easy. Well to unlock every character you have to beat all of story mode, then beat all of the clone ninjas, then do almost all of the side missions of every variety, then you unlock a side mission that you have to go back to Orochimaru's hideout, then come back, then do like a few more side missions to unlock a mission as Sasuke that you have to go through this 30 room dungeon/maze thing, you also have to technically grind to level up your shuriken throwing and Chidori to pass through some of the floors while not dieing then get to the end of the maze and fight the boss, now do like one or two more side missions and then do the maze AGAIN with Naruto but this time you have to level up your Rasengan instead of Chidori. Congrats now you can start to unlock the other characters, yes all of that stuff about side missions was just to be able to do the thing to get the rest of the characters. Now that you did all of that you can fight like 5 more clone battles, beat the clones of the characters you don't have (I think it's just pre time skip Sasuke) and once you beat all of the other clones you go to the Hokage building onto the roof and you can finally fight the 4th Hokage, then you have all of the characters. Yea wow.

2. Bleach Heat the Soul 6

Total: 74
Wow Heat the Soul 6 beat Accel 2 by 1 character, good thing Halibel was in the game. Ok let me say right now, it is H-A-R-D to unlock characters in this game, not like Accel 2 that it will take you forever, it's just that you have to get like A ranks on certain missions, luckily you don't actually have to get an S rank on any mission to unlock every character (staring at Zatch Bell Mamodo Fury while typing). When you beat every scenario it is totally worth it to just stare at that beautiful roster, especially since it has Halibel and Dark Rukia in it, OH YEAH MOVIE CHARACTERS FTW!!! Ahem... back on topic, this game is great and if you have previous Heat the Soul data on your memory card then you get a few extra characters.

1. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3

Total: OVER 150!!!!!!! yeah I just did that...
Well what else is there to say, it's awesome... it may take forever to get each character but hey, it's totally worth it because vs mode is fun with 150 characters. I really don't know what to say except that this game is great especially for all of those DBZ fans out there.

Importer's Guide: PAL game update

A few days ago I realized that I haven't played the wii for quite some time, so I sat down to play some One Piece Unlimited Adventure, ahhh good times, and somehow ended up looking for One Piece games on Gamefaqs, only to go to the One Piece Unlimited Cruise episode 1 page and find out that... EUROPE AND AUSTRALLIA BOTH GOT UNLIMITED CRUISE!. So after hours and hours of searching I have finally found a website from Europe (the UK to be exact) that sells video games and ships to the US, FINALLY!. The website is called and wow, not only are the games the same price (or even less) than what you would pay for them in the US, they also only charge $6 for shipping outside of Europe!

Sorry today's post was short but I am quite busy. And if this is your first time visiting, trust me my posts usually aren't that short. And remember I post every other day so keep checking for new posts.

Top 5 Worst Ideas for a Live Action Anime Movie

Live action anime movies can be ok (Blood the last vampire), they can be awesome (the Death Note movies), or they can suck (Dragon Ball Evolution), so here is my top 5 list of anime that would be terrible for a live action movie.

5. Code Geass
Well, Code Geass is an amazingly awesome Mecha... Comedy... Drama... uhhh... thing... that has a plot twist every episode just in case you have never heard of it... even though it aired on Adult Swim. Anyway, let's get down to reasons why it would be terrible for a live action movie. Well, the first reason is because, well if you have seen the Higurashi movie, for some reason little kids can't be in Japanese movies soo... Nunally will probably be 19 and V.V. (V2) will be as tall as Lelouch. Ok maybe that was an overexaggeration, but in the hands of people that aren't the wrighter of the series bad things can happen. Well another reason is, this anime is REALLY LONG but unlike Death Note, pretty much every single episode is important... well except for the one or two filler episodes, so summing up a what? 52 episode anime into one or hopefully more movies would destroy the plot.

4. Zatch Bell
Oh man if Zatch Bell is number 4 then you could only imagine number one. Well, what can I say, an anime about a kid who can shoot lighning out of his mouth using a book, who must burn the books of the other people who can use spells to become the king of Mamodo. Do you honastly think that the lighning effect would look cool in a live action Zatch Bell movie? Plus, how would they make a live action Kanchome? With CGI? Well if other Mamodo like Zatch or Tia (JP name Tio... just puttin this in so the fanboys don't get pissed) were actors then it would just look weird with CGI Kanchome... also, Zatch Bell is a 150 episode anime (if they include the final arc of the manga it could have been like 200 episodes), so making this anime into movies would mean to take all three seasons that each consist of 50 episodes, and make a movie out of each... well even one movie of each season sounds difficult, good thing it would be to complicated to make a live action movie... otherwise they might have...

3. Naruto
HA! What where you expecting this to be number 1? Well if you get info from trolls or idiots who don't check if their info is really correct or not then you think there actually is a live action naruto movie, don't worry though because that was only a stage play, but if you can find it online please at least check out how rediculous they look. Especially since Naruto is (and I think Sasuke might be) played by a girl, no offence in fact I think that as voice actors girls can be really good, I mean people like Maile Flanagan prove that, but a female actress playing the role of naruto... just looks weird... and in the trailer for this stage play there were special effects for Naruto's rasengan, and I'm not gonna lie to you, those were pretty awesome. Oh yeah and another reason Naruto would be bad for a live action movie is... well... just think about Sasuke's transformation into curse seal and then think of how weird it would look in live action, oh yeah and think of how weird the nine-tails would looks, then again Ryuk did look pretty awesome in those live action Death Note movies...

2. One Piece
Yeah... you pretty much saw this coming didn't you? Well if you didn't the reasons why it wouldn't transition well into live action are... Well to start off, One Piece has alot of strange villains with strange powers, remeber how I told you to imagine Sasuke's curse seal transformation in live action? Well, now I want you to imagine Buggy's regeneration thing... or what effect they would use to make him look like he has been diced to pieces. Oh yeah and when I said alot of strange villains, who pops into your head? Probably your favorite villain, but for me it's the character I would love to never see in live action... Bon Clay, seriously, I think I would puke if I had to see a guy wearing a swan outfit in live action. Sadly the Straw Hat crew wouldn't transition very well either, Chopper and Brook would probably have to be CGI... Oh yeah and One Piece is just way to long to make into movies, it would be like if they made another live action Dragon Ball Z movie but it actually followed the plot of the anime, accept I think One Piece is longer...

1. .Hack
Ok I know what your all going to say, "Why is number one an anime I have never heard of?" you want to know why? well...

Do you think any of those characters would look good in live action? Obviously no because it's not even supposed to be live action, .Hack is about some kids playing an online game so a CG movie makes perfect sense, but a live action movie, that just sounds stupid. I mean just look at them, just take another look, live action versions of that would look silly. Oh yeah and Trilogy (the CG movie) summed up the story of the three G.U. games, what would the people making the live action G.U. movie do to not seem like copycats? Uhhhh, well they could summarize Trilogy... which would really suck, but on the up side if a live action movie for any of the .hack series were to be released, we probably wouldn't get it, and if we did it wouldn't be dubbed like the live action Death Note movies, it would be subbed... I mean we only got the subbed version of Trilogy anyway.

Well that was my top 5 list for bad live action anime movies, remember I post every other day, so keep checking for posts.
