Is anyone even reading this?

I checked and apparently according to Google my number of visitors at this blog hasn't gone up by like even 1 in the past few months... I don't really want to continue this blog if I'm not even getting one visitor per month, so if anyone is actually reading this, comment on this post, if I at least get a few comments I'll continue with the blog, but as of now I think I'm gonna be going on hiatus...

Probly no post tomorrow

Why do I suck at updating my blog so much? Ugh, there is like a 70% chance that there will be no post tomorrow, I say about 70% because there is kind of a slight chance I'll be able to type up the post today but don't hold me to it...

Scott Pilgrim The Game First Impressions

Well, I didn't go to school today because I'm feeling sick but even so I figured it would be kinda messed up to skip another post so, this is just gonna be a short post about my first impressions on the Scott Pilgrim Video Game. Ok, so first of all, yes I got the Xbox 360 version but that's just because like all of my friends own a 360 and I only know like one person with a PS3 so 4 player co-op is gonna be easier since I don't have to buy any controllers. Anyway, since I just got the game a few hours ago and it's a weekday, and all of my friends are at school, I obviously haven't played the co-op yet, but I did play a bit of single player as Scott, since apparently I think there is a code for two people to pick the same character I think I might try playing as Stephen Stills, but if I'm wrong and there is no code I might as well not since my friend already called him. Ok, now down to the game, well first of all as a beat em' up on the 360 the controls feel awesome, I never really play beat em' ups on the PS3 but honestly I'm sure the controls feel just fine for those of you who got the PS3 version, I mean the game WAS originally intended for the PSN only if I'm not mistaken. This game basically plays like River City Ransom if you ever played that game before, and I seriously like using all sorts of objects to help you out in the game, it was so freakin satisfying to have a tire and a box do extra damage to a whole group of enemies at the same time while I was already beating the crap out of them, it was like my attacks were doing triple damage because I was volleying the objects at super close range. The game also REALLY has that 8-bit feel to it, like everything about it is retro, oh and I almost forgot, the soundtrack is AMAZING just totally freakin amazing, I can't really put it into words but trust me if you play the game you'd probably agree with me. So in conclusion, (sorry about the post being kinda short but I seriously think I need to lay down) so far from what I've played of the game it's awesome and totally worth the $10 (or 800 Microsoft points) I spent on it and I'm sure playing with three of my friends this weekend will make it even more worthwhile.

(Short) Retro Review: Kid Icarus

Ok, don't have a lot of time but I promised not to skip my next post so this is gonna kinda be a short review. Alright so I got this game at my local Play N' Trade... or uh actually the guy who owned that one store dropped the franchise and decided, so I got it from "Game Store Video Games" and I seriously wish I was kidding about the name of the store. Anyway, it took me forever to get the damn thing working but when I finally did I seriously couldn't put the controller down, I actually stayed up an extra hour then I usually when I had to wake up really early the next day just to keep playing. The game is kind of like a mix of Metroid, Castlevania, and Ice Climbers, if that makes any sense... I say that it's like Metroid because... Well, honestly I don't know besides the fact that the music kinda sounds like Metroid... sometimes, but I just get this weird Metroid vibe when I play the game. I say it's like Castlevania because I'm running around killing demons and collecting hearts, you could argue that maybe that could remind you of several games, but you know what, this game has enemies that remind of those freakin Medusa Heads from Castlevania 3 so that could also be it. But for the most part, I saw this game as Ice Climbers with a longer range weapon, your movement is a little less "stale" I guess, I kind of don't know how to put it, it's like if you compare the character movements of Ice Climbers with an old Megaman game, in that situation Kid Icarus is basically the Megaman game. It uses a kind of long password system which kind of pisses me off, especially since the game for me still has a few minor graphical glitches (this is obviously just MY cartridge of the game, not every cartridge in existance) and since I can't really tell the difference between some of the letters I just end up getting the passwords wrong anyway. But besides that, this game is awesome, super addicting, and totally worth the $18 I spent on it... I just wish that I could find DuckTales now...

Scott Pilgrim Movie Short Review

Ok, so I went to go see Scott Pilgrim the other day, and I'll start off by saying that I read one volume of the original graphic novel before I went to see the movie, so yes I have seen the original material, or at least some of it. Anyway, let's start the review, ok so first of all the pacing was like SUPER fast, or like at least half of the movie had super fast pacing, that wasn't really a bad thing but seriously since there's like no "transitions" per say, it's like the characters are in 7 different places in one minute. I get that it sort of had to be done since summarizing a 6 volume graphic novel into a two hour movie is pretty tricky, but like everything in volume 1 happens in like the first 10 or 15 minutes. Anyway, besides that, the movie was both hilarious and downright epic, for some reason a few people were just laughing at the whole "combo" thing or any references to video games at all but didn't laugh at any of the REAL jokes, none of those people were me or my friends but seriously, it was weird, I mean, I thought the video game references were cool, like all of the Zelda music used and stuff, but I don't understand how it was you know... funny. Either way, I really shouldn't make fun of people so I'm not gonna say anything else about the strange hipsters sitting in front of us that laughed louder then a police siren every time they made a reference to video games. Anyway, like I said the video game reference things were just kinda cool to me and especially with the "Nega Scott" thing at the end, I won't spoil anything but that was like one of my favorite parts of the movie. A friend of mine said that the movie changed a few things when it got around to the parts of the final two volumes but that was apparently because they just got the creator's early notes for those two volumes when they made the movie version. In conclusion, the pacing of the movie might be weird at the beginning, but you get used to it, they also took some stuff out, and changed a few things around the end, but to be honest it was still awesome, hilarious, and super epic, I SERIOUSLY recommend that you go see this movie.

5 Anime Remakes I Would Like to See

Yeah I know I said I was going to do a post on what I thought about Scott Pilgrim but turns out I'm gonna watch it kinda late at night so... Yeah here I am posting about anime remakes... Anyway this isn't a top 5 list, it's just a list of 5, meaning it is in no particular order.

Alright, so... you all know about the new awesome fascination anime companies have with remakes or just revisiting their older series in general, like with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Dragon Ball Kai, Shaman King Kang Zeng Bang, Inyasha: The Final Act, Casshern Sins, ect. Well this is a list of anime that I think should be remade as well, some of them I think we should maybe wait a few years but some of them I would like to see in the near future.

1. Soul Eater
Ok, so I haven't actually seen or heard much about the ending of this anime, I'm only about half way through, but first of all I think it's a shame that the anime ended so quickly and the manga still goes on to this day. Anyway, I really don't expect this one to be any time soon, and since popularity for Soul Eater just kind of flew up to the heavens when they still made episodes for it, it kind of seems like everybody forgot about it right after it ended, so honestly I have no idea if they would even consider this. Also, while we're talking about this, does bones plan on giving a filler ending to every anime that reaches a super high level of popularity? Well, I'll probably get an answer to that question eventually since their new series Heroman seems to be getting quite popular, let's all cross our fingers that we don't get a filler ending for that series too...

2. Desert Punk
Desert Punk was one of those anime that kind of had to make a filler ending up since... well since the series didn't have an ending yet and at the time they couldn't just put the show on hiatus since the manga was on hiatus. The series had somewhat of a cult following and right now I feel like an idiot for not getting an issue of Monthly Comic Beam from Japan while my dad still knew somebody who was living there temporarily... anyway if anyone knows where I can get an issue online or something please tell me in a comment. Anyway, sorry about getting off track there... since the manga has continued and I think the Funimation boxset is actually doing kind of well, I think maybe they should try translating the manga for America, seeing if it does well, and maybe if they realize they have an audience besides the regular Japanese hipsters, they could consider a remake sometime down the road, perhaps when the manga is finished. As of right now, much like the Soul Eater remake I really don't see this one happening any time soon... but I can dream can't I?

3. Zatch Bell (AKA: Konjiki no Gash Bell)
This one, much like with Shaman King is something a lot of fans want, but many of us doubt we'll get. However, one of the reasons we actually got a remake of the Shaman King manga was because it never had a real ending, the Zatch Bell manga had a real ending but what I'm asking for is a remake of the anime, since we didn't get the final arc. So this is like Inuyasha, where the manga ended but the anime didn't, and the only reason we got Inuyasha: The Final Act was because Inuyasha is well... It's freakin Inuyasha, it's like one of the most popular anime ever, and Zatch Bell is sort of... well underrated isn't exactly the word I'm looking for... or maybe it is... I don't know this is all really confusing to you isn't it? Well, anyway, this one would be nice to see sometime soon, but I also doubt it... Geez this list might as well be remakes we'll never see...

4. Yu Yu Hakusho
Ok, with Brotherhood, I'm gonna wait til the DVDs get really low in price because I already have all of the original Fullmetal Alchemist DVDs, with Dragon Ball Kai, I might just buy the DBZ remastered DVDs... But if they ever made a Yu Yu Hakusho remake, even though I already have the whole original series on DVD, I would buy the box sets like THE SAME FREAKIN DAY THEY COME OUT! Ok so I don't know if I would buy them the same day but I would totally buy and watch Yu Yu Hakusho remake if they ever made one, I don't think the series had any filler at all, but it did take a few parts out of the end and there were one or two changes here and there, so if it followed the manga exactly and even though I'm not a "graphics whore" it would be kinda cool to see Yu Yu Hakusho in kind of a newer maybe kind of shiny art style. This one I could totally see happening since Yu Yu Hakusho is INSANELY popular and it's also kind of old enough to be remade, and if it did get remade I would totally support it.

5. Gantz
Remember this ISN'T a top 5 list, it's just a list of 5 things, so if anyone is thinking something like "How could you put this at the top of the list Yu Yu Hakusho is way better!" just remember that this list is in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. Anyway, this is yet another remake that will probably never happen, I mean, seriously if you've never read my blog or seen hbi2k's hilarious abridged series of this anime you probably have no idea what the hell Gantz is. Well anyway, the manga for this series if I'm not mistaken is still going on today but it's on like the final story arc. The anime added a lot of stupid filler and character changes in the manga to anime transition and if I'm not mistaken, it ended after about 3 story arcs of the manga and then had a crappy filler arc ending. The anime also always seemed to drag everything out, like I pick of a volume of Gantz and I'm done in like no time at all and all I wanna do is read more Gantz, but I see like 3 episodes of the anime and I just feel tired... I feel like I just watched like 10 episodes but only about 2 episodes of story progression happened, like sometimes I go back just thinking "wait a minute... what ACTUALLY happened in this episode besides like them taking one step forward? I was paying complete attention and it feels like a lot more should have happened..." if you understand kind of what I mean by that. But this in no way means the anime is bad, certainly not, it's still worth checking out, but almost nothing happens in some episodes, like the pacing is all out of whack and the manga in my opinion is sort of better. Anyway, enough on giving my two cents on the anime, now that you know why I think there should be a remake, how bout I tell you what the chances are... Ok, I'm gonna be totally honest... there is like no chance at all of a Gantz remake ever happening like ever, but like I said before... I can dream can't I?

Well, that was my list on anime remakes, hopefully it sort of makes up a little for my lack of posts lately, also, sorry about the lack of pictures but I just spend like an hour and a half typing this and that could have been time I used to do something productive like eating Cheetos or playing Sin and Punishment 2, instead of just typing a post for nobody to read...

Ok, YES THERE WILL BE A POST TOMORROW!

Video Recomendation... Thing... Post... I don't know...

Ok so I can't really write a post right now for... reasons, but I thought it unfair to just not do a post at all so here are some videos to check out.

The trailer for the new .hack anime, .hack//Quantum came out the othere day so here it is:

A video that pretty much explains why I'm not getting Natal... or whatever they renamed it now:

And finally, anyone who knows who Shadyvox is, this video will be hilarious because it's a few minutes recorded from a live broadcast him and Xthedarkone did while drunk, if you don't know who Shadyvox is then your attention span will make you close this video before it even gets to 2 minutes and you'll go back to watching shiny colors move around on your TV set... I say that assuming of course that the people who would do that would not enjoy listening to and watching a drunk person act like an idiot:

(By the way, for those of you that were worrying he probly wasn't going to be ok being as drunk as he was, like I did, don't worry he's totally ok now.)

Random Post!

Ok, I'm starting to get sick, and I'm about to be very busy this week, in fact let me give you a heads up that I MIGHT have to skip my next post, but that's just a maybe. Anyway, let's just start with some topics!

Jhonen Vasquez:
Ok, so like, ever since Invader Zim started playing on Nicktoons again for the Summer I've been getting re-interested in Jhonen Vasquez related stuff again, and apparently I found out like a few days that the rest of the world has pretty much been doing the same, or at least that's what I've heard... I honestly have no idea. Anyway, I picked up the Director's Cut of Johnny the Homocidal Maniac (Jhonen's first comic if I'm not mistaken) at my local Barnes and Noble today and the lady stopped me before I even finished the name of the title and said they most likely didn't carry anything by Jhonen Vasquez but sure enough she checked and what do ya know, it was supposed to be in the section I checked a million times already, but somehow when she checked it she found it in less then a minute. Anyway, I brought it back home and at first thought it was a little funny in a messed up way, I continued to read and it was just interesting, then I came across a part that was just downright creepy and so I stopped reading... but a part of me just wants to pick that book up again right when I finish this post... Anyway, if you like the creepy and sometimes funny style of Jhonen Vasquez I totally recomend it, but if you scare easily I don't think it's for you...

Awesome Pokemon Hack Story:
*Warning, this is SORT OF a scary story*
Since I'm sick, have some cards to make on Yugiohcardmaker.net and have a few things to pack and some dinner to eat... so the rest of this random post won't include much of me writing or typing or whatever... so here is a link to an awesome story about a Pokemon Red hack: here.

A video recommendation... thing:

First off is the new FioriParty video:

New BarfQuestion video:

And that's it... sorry I was just really busy and normally I wouldn't have even posted at all but I would have felt really bad for skipping a post day again...

Bayonetta Short Review

EDIT:
Ok two things, one you actually do get swords later on in the game and stuff... and two you can PAUSE CUTSCENES so it gets an extra thumbs up from me just for that.

Well, I kept telling myself I'd get this game for free from Lockerz, but they kept raising prices, doing redemptions while I was at school, doing redemptions without telling me, and then, and here's the best one, taking most video games off the redemption prize list, so I quit Lockerz and saw this game on sale at Gamestop for $30 and got it. I gotta say, so far I actually kinda like it... I thought it was pretty cool that in the begining all of the staff members for the opening credits were on tombstones, but it was just hilarious when Hideki Kamiya's gravestone gets pissed on by one of the main characters... oh Kamiya... what a good sport. Anyway, if you didn't know, Hideki Kamiya is the director of many Capcom games we all remember (most of which were from good old Clover Studios), such titles would include Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and Resident Evil 2. Now you can see why people consider this game Devil May Cry's spiritual successor, and yeah in my opinion, it's good old Devil May Cry action, but this time your playing as a girl and there are no swords... but to be honest I constantly forget about the no swords thing. Oh, before I forget, this game probably could have been published by Capcom and developed by Clover Studios... if Capcom didn't close Clover Studios... so it's published by SEGA and developed by Platinum Games, which is basically a lot of the major people from Clover Studios forming their own gaming company, so essentially it'd be the same game even in an alternate universe where Clover was still there, but in that alternate universe those lucky bastards have the name "Capcom" on the game and not "SEGA". Anyway enough of my fanboyishnes... the game itself plays pretty much like the better Devil May Cry games (when I say this I mean that 1 and 3 in my opinion were better then 2 and 4, but it's only my opinion, and I'm definatly not saying I dislike 4) except there is fanservice left and right, it's the super actiony kind that sometimes kinda makes you laugh, but sometimes it gets a litte to over the top, but so far where I am in the game it still doesn't have as much fanservice as the Rosario Vampire anime. The story is kind of that "the main character doesn't know about her past at all so you start off knowing less about the entire world of this game then she does" thing, and that kind of annoys me, but I'm hoping it'll eventually unfold and I won't be kept in the dark the whole game. The PS3 version of this game supposedly had a lot of glitches and really long loading times or something but I don't really know much about that since I have the 360 version. So in short, this game may be a bit on the fanservicey side, but if you like Devil May Cry and you have an Xbox 360 then this is one of those games you should probably check out.
