Pokemon: Soul Silver Version First Impressions

Ok, so recently (in the past few months or so) I picked up Pearl and got back into Pokemon games so naturally I had to get Soul Silver and so far I am loving it. I really like the Pokewalker, a little step counter that can level up your Pokemon and find items as well as other Pokemon. Oh, but I do have one complaint about the Pokewalker... and that is... well... my one complaint was that I leveled up my Cyndaquill to level 10 in my Pokewalker, meaning that it never learned ember, that's right, if your Pokemon levels up in the Pokewalker then it can't learn moves, I wonder what the hell made them thing that it was a good idea to do that... But, besides that, I really can't think of anything bad about this game. The new feature to have your Pokemon follow you was a really awesome idea, I just wish they didn't resize their sprites so much, like I imagine my Whalord is going to look like the size of a Bidoof, when obviously it should be size of a freakin WHALE! But, that's not really a negative in my opinion. Oh, and another awesome positive, the game has 16 Gyms instead of just 8, you see once you beat the elite 4, you get to go to a completely new region. And for those of you (all 2 of you...) who are wondering what I named my rival, I named him the same thing I named him when I replayed Blue version, Biatch. But, naming him Biatch was funnier in Blue version because it sounded like the professer was calling his grandson a Biatch. Anyway, I do not know what else to say, oh, one thing that really pissed me off was that it just expected me to be talking to everyone after beating the first gym leader because without the game telling saying where, it somehow just expects you to sort of find that NPC on the outskirts of town that gives you Rock Smash... You don't need it to get to the next town, but it just pissed me off when I asked my friends where to get it and they said "You didn't talk to the fat guy near the Sudowoodo?" and I just said... "I was supposed to talk to that guy?"so now I have to go back. But really besides those little tiny problems this game is just pure awesome.

My Top 3 DS RPG Games (That I own)

Ok, I am doing this post on a Monday, and I am super busy on Mondays so I need to hurry this up...

3. Megaman Battle Network 5 Double Team

Ok so I like the battle network games in a different way than the other Megaman games, most people just don't like Megaman as an RPG and I totally understand that but I really like the Battle Network series, I can't keep up with the new ones and I'm not sure if they are any good but I liked 3, 4 and especially 5, it was one of those games that my brother got the version everyone got and then I got the other one, that actually wasn't ever a bad thing, I always liked getting the "other" version. Ok so bottom line, I really like it but it's not number one on my list, now let's get down to number 2!

2. Pokemon Pearl

Like I said before I always got the "other" game, even though my brother didn't get Diamond, I just HAD to get Pearl to sort of not break the tradition, which is the reason I will be getting Soul Silver instead of Heart Gold. As a gamer with soooo many games of so many genres I sort of go through "phases" and right now I am going through an RPG "phase" so I have been playing nothing but Pokemon for like the last month. With all of the parody that comes with Pokemon and how much I think the anime sucks I must admit that the games are made by Nintendo so they are just simply awesome. The grinding doesn't take too long but when I resumed my old file I found my Prinplup to be at least 10 levels above all of my other Pokemon so right now I am just trying to create a balanced team. The fact that my friend has Platinum, it kind of pisses me off since he just takes the amazing things added to the game as like a "Oh you don't have _______ in Pearl? That sucks." but I am saving up and cannot afford Platinum... anyway back on topic I really recommend this to someone who needs a good old RPG to take with them wherever they go to pass the time, worked wonders for me when I was waiting for my food at a restaurant.

1. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

This should have been obvious, I mean come on, it's like a ps2 game that you can take with you on your DS, I'm not sure about you but that sounds awesome to me. Honestly this game is so awesome there really isn't much to say but, if you thought Chain of Memories was a good portable Kingdom Hearts game, then this will blow you away. I seriously am just trying to think of things to say about this game's awesomeness, but I would probably go on for an hour, but let me just try to find a few things to say. Well, for starters I am almost speechless about this game and I probably haven't even finished half of the game. And uh, well, seriously it's just a Kingdom Hearts game practically as good as a console game but on your DS, that's amazing. Although I do think that Birth By Sleep will be even better... hmmmm maybe I should make a psp RPG list...

Top 5 Games to Play on the Go

Well I promised an actual post today and here is a new list since I am feeling better.

5. Bleach Soul Carnival (psp)
Ok, well... the reason this game is number 5 is because grinding can get a bit repetitive... but the good old slash em up style of gameplay is great when your in the car, on the bus, or in a restaurant. Oh and the music also helps when your in a place you can actually hear your headphones. I of course cannot say the same for the animated cutscenes... they aren't bad their just... uhhh... well... hmm kinda like a flash video, they look like the anime but the lip movement and hand movement is just... uhhh ok well if you have the game you know exactly what I mean.

4. Bleach Heat the Soul 6 (psp)
Well a bleach fighter with 73 characters on the go is just awesome, especially when movie characters and turn back the pendulum characters are included. Surprisingly enough if you have a Japanese PSN account you can download DLC from the Japanese PSN store, I think the DLC has something to do with S ranked or SSS ranked (if that exists) tournimants, however I only have up to A ranked tournimants.

3. Prinny (psp)
Ok remember when I said repetitivness or something back on number 5... yeah well if you are not a hardcore gamer, and I mean like someone who has beat every classic megaman game with ease, then this game is going to piss you off, it's not repetitive, in fact it's very fun but like I said EXTREMELY HARD I myself am stuck on the last boss (second form) on standard mode. Oh and yes Standard mode is the easy mode but there are only two difficulties, Standard, where you take 3 hits and Hell's Finest, where you take 1 hit... so... yes it's very hard.

2. Jump Ultimate Stars (DS)
Well, if your a Jump fan this game is great, and if you know Japanese on top of that, this is probably one of the best games to have on the go. Well, to start off if you don't know Japanese playing this game can be a bit difficult because of missions and objectives and what not. Oh and if you beat the game and got most of the objectives of the missions it might kind of get a bit boring on the go with no online play.

1. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (DS)
Ok, this game just came out and what can I say about it? Well if you want to know really just read my previous post... Anyway, it is basically what you would think but better, a Kingdom Hearts game on your DS. This game is just too good for words honastly, I really do not know at all what to say except that it is just purely awesome.

Well that concludes todays post, sorry if it seemed short but, I'm going to go back to playing 358/2 days.

Importer's Guide: How to play

Ok (ha! were u expecting "Ahh!" weren't you!) so this will be a guide on how to play game's of other regions separated in sections by console, so without further delay, let's get started!

Gameboy Advanced:
The GBA is REGION FREE! so go ahead and buy any region GBA game and it will work.

Nintendo DS:
REGION FREE!

Nintendo DSi:
REGION BLOCKED! Yes, it is true, the all new shiny DSi is region blocked so don't upgrade to it unless you are 100% possitive you won't buy any games of other region.

Sony PS1:
REGION BLOCKED! Ok old systems are ok to be region blocked because I mean come on, how much would it suck for Square Enix America if everyone bought the Japanese version of Final Fantasy 7.

Sony PS2:
REGION BLOCKED! Ahh the best game system I have ever played, but sadly it's region blocked, however if you have a model 70012 slimline you can buy a flip top and swap magic disks to play imports, I think you can do it with a original ps2 but I'm not sur... oh crap I said "Ahh" didn't I?

Sony PS3:
For the most part REGION FREE! WOOT! Yeah, well I have heard rumors of SOME games being REGION BLOCKED but for the most part the PS3 is REGION FREE, thanks Sony, you may have gotten alot of things wrong with the ps3, but this is one of the good things.

Sony PSP:
REGION FREE!

Nintendo Gamecube:
REGION BLOCKED! I want to see a pie chart of how much money Nintendo would REALLY lose compared to the made up number they THINK they will lose... Anyway a nice gamecube freeloader will fix the problem, but remember this important fact: GAMECUBE MEMORY CARDS ARE NOT REGION FREE LIKE PS2 MEMORY CARDS! IF YOU SAVE JAPANESE DATA ON A MEMORY CARD WITH DATA OF ANOTHER REGION ALL OF THE NON JAPANESE DATA WILL BE DELETED!!! THIS WORKS THE SAME WITH SAVING AMERICAN DATA ON YOUR MEMORY CARD WITH JAPANESE DATA!

Nintendo Wii:
REGION BLOCKED! Ok this is the one that pisses me off, installing the Homebrew channel has become so complicated because of Nintendo trying to stop it... just look for instructions on http://www.wiibrew.org/

Xbox 360:
IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE DISK! Which basically means game's like Ghostbusters work on all region consoles (I offer this region free disk to Europe as an apology for not only being delayed but also because No More Heroes was censored in their country).

Those are pretty much all of the systems I know how to play Imports on and from now on I will post mostly every other day (there might be special occasions that I will update daily) so please check every other day for new posts.
