Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep First Impressions

Ok, so you might wanna read my previous post about what I'll be doing if I come back and everything, and I was originally just gonna play some flash games today, but I decided that if today I actually have the luxury of free time, maybe I should just do a post. Anyway, here's my first Impression of Birth by Sleep... Oh and, this might have a bit of spoilers from the game, but most likely just stuff from the beginning since I'm not that far...

Alright, so when I first started up the game I realized they gave you three choices for data install (I think Peace Walker only had like two choices) after deleting and moving a few things, (including some Castlevania PSN game I can just play on my PS3 and some of the Peace Walker data install) I was able to install the 624 MB data install and load times are pretty quick, nothing to complain about really, it did take a while to install but whatever. I would seriously recommend you do the data install because from what I hear, load time without it has longer load time then a psp launch title! Anyway, for some reason I absolutely hated the cutscenes in the beginning (not all of them, just like one or two) especially Aqua's super fake laugh, I mean, I thought it was just me who noticed that until my friend was laughing his ass off over it. Now, I know saying that means that I'm going to get hate mail from Square Enix fanboys for the rest of my life, but I think the cutscenes after you leave the Land of Departure or whatever it's called were just fine. But like I said about Aqua, there is just something about the voice they chose for her that at times seems perfectly normal, but every now and again feels like she doesn't know the English language very well. Anyway, enough about having opinions that'll get me hate mail, after all this is the Internet, I'm not ALLOWED to have opinions. So yeah, the order I chose for which characters to play as is Ven, then Aqua, and then Terra, mainly because it seems like if the game didn't allow me to choose, that would probably be the order it would want me to play. I picked Terra last mainly since Terra's adventures seem to be shrouded in so much mystery, like for example, if you were given the choice to play as Riku in the original Kingdom Hearts, it would just feel weird to play as him first. I have yet to actually play the multiplayer, I at least hope it's good, um... what else is there about the game? Well, the worlds are fun, and there's plenty of new ones, in fact, so far I don't think I've run into a world that's been in a previous Kindom Hearts game before. Um... well since I'm never any good at ending things, I think I'm gonna go back to playing Jables's Adventure... I seriously wanna do a video review of like every game that guy has made... anyway, I hope to be doing more posts soon.

NeoToonami and .Hack//Link Demo

Ok let's start with what was first in the title, NeoToonami. Well, NeoToonami is basically a revival of the awesomeness that was the Toonami block on Cartoon Network, but NeoToonami isn't made by the Toonami staff or anyone official, it's just the dedicated fans who miss it so much. I for one support NeoToonami and if you want anymore information on NeoToonami since I was quite vague about it just visit NeoToonami.com

Now onto the .Hack//Link Demo! Ok if you don't know what .Hack is... uhhh... wow It's hard to explain but in simple terms it's an RPG series by CyberConnect2 and their newest and sadly their final game in the series is .Hack//Link on the PSP. And the demo just recently came out on the Japanese PSN (Playstation Network), so naturally since I have a Japanese PSN account I just had to download it and play it right when I found out. And wow I have to say I am sad that .Hack//Link is going to be the final game but I can say that from what I played it is going out with a bang. It was alot like G.U. with the real time combat but it had more... I guess I wanna say "tag-team" elements. Also those "team special" things are so awesome that I seriously couldn't wait to see the "special" for each character. Oh and speaking of characters, you had a choice of 2 partners (technically 3 since Kite is your partner in the tutorial part...) and 3 levels (4 if you count the tutorial one). The two partners are Haseo from .Hack//G.U. and Tsukasa from .Hack//SIGN (yes the anime series) and I sort of confirmed it was Tsukasa and not Elk from the original .Hack series because of his "team special"... thing... sorry I really don't know what to call it. I seriously hope this game comes out in America but I do think it will since the other games did and this is the last in the series so they really don't have much to lose by releasing one more game... at least I hope. For more info on .Hack//Link and anything else .Hack related then visit: dothackers.net

Top 5 Launch Titles

Well this is going to be a top 5 list of games released on the same day of the console it's on.

5. Redsteel - Nintendo Wii
I know, I know, alot of you like to complain on how much you hate Redsteel, but you know what I liked it, the multiplayer is fun, the story mode is awesome (except for the sudden difficulty curve in like either the middle or near the end of the game), and the Wiimote isn't as inacurate as people think. I am not really that hyped up for Redsteel 2 since it takes a huge curve away from what Redsteel was, because the original Redsteel was like Yakuza and seriousness with samurai swords and it was sort of dark in a way, but Redsteel 2 is just Samurai Cowboys and quite frankly I'm not sure if that will work, of course the gameplay does look entertaining and so I might pick it up sometime after the release when the price has gone down.

4. Elebits - Nintendo Wii
Ok don't get me wrong just because it's number 4 on the list doesn't mean it's bad, in fact Elebits was quite good... I think, well I only rented it so it's been a while but I do remember having a blast with it and regretting that I rented it because I defiantly should have bought it. If you never played the game basically you go around flipping things over, or opening things, to look for and capture these little creatures known as Elebits, you needed a certain amount of Elebits to access certain areas or lift certain objects... I think or some sort of limitation like that, and it sort of reminds me of Katamari... well anyway from what I remember this game was great and defiantly utilized the Wiimote very well for a launch title game.

3. Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower - PSP
Ok, this game came in close second but when you see what number 2 is you will know why this is 3rd. Well first of all this suffered from the dreaded loading time almost all early psp games had, and this game REALLY shows it. But if you overlook that, it's basically a lowered down version of the Darkstalkers Collection (a game only released in Japan) but on the psp. If you are as much of a Darkstalkers fan as I am you should own this game, I mean I used to rent it, then I just bought it, then I lost it, and then I re-bought it, yeah it was totally worth it too. It even has the endings for each character from all of the games, but sadly no Dee =(, oh well he was just a clone of Demitri with Donovan's sword anyway...

2. Ape Escape: On the Loose - PSP
This one is a remake of the original Ape Escape game, and Ape Escape has got to be the main thing that defines my childhood so this game just has to be this high on the list. Even though when I feel nostalgic enough to replay every Ape Escape game I own (and yes I do that alot with series like Ape Escape and Klonoa) I would always play the original PS1 version over the remake just for that old PS1 feel, but that's not to say this is a bad remake oh no, no, no, I would never say that, in fact for the people who don't want to hunt for the original or if they just want to take Ape Escape on the go, then this game is defiantly for you. I don't know what it offers new to the table in terms of content but the graphics sure are an improvement from the original.

1. Jak & Daxter - PS2
Ok, so this wasn't a launch title, but it was the first PS2 game I ever played, it's one of my favorite games of all time, and it was released around the beginning of the system's lifespan. I always have nothing to say about #1 on my lists because I have too much to say... wait... that didn't make sense... Oh well, anyway this game has got to be platforming on ANY SONY console at it's best, at least in my opinion, I forgot how awesome this game was until I played the recently released Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier (which is awesome) and suddenly had the urge to play the original again, the way the series evolved was something I was never really to happy about, adding things like guns, bad words, and taking Daxter's name out of the title were a bit strange to me so the original is still my favorate, it's also the only Jak and Daxter game I actually beat, and yes I beat it 100%, so those of you thinking I am "a newb for not beating jak 2 or jak 3" I beat the original COMPLETELY! Yes that means EVERY SINGLE POWER CELL! so yeah... Anyway back on topic this game is great and if you haven't played this game there must be something wrong with you because it's a must have game for the ps2 right next to Kingdom Hearts or Budokai 3.

Well remember I post every other day, and please tell your friends about my blog.

Top 5 Releases (of this year) I Am Sooo Excited For

Well right now as I am wrighting this I am too sick and injured (nothing serious though) to go to school, but I am not too sick or too injured to use the internet so here is a list for you, I will probably end up doing one just like this in January for the releases of 2010.

5. DBZ Raging Blast
Ok I am gonna be honast, I wasn't too excited for this game at first but hey, 70 characters (two of which are SSJ3 Vegita and SSJ3 Broly) with graphics so good it makes it look like the actual anime (unlike freakin Ultimate Ninja Storm...), and after finally figuring out the controls of the demo it was actually pretty badass. So yeah in a nutshell I will definatly get this game on release date (MW2 fans don't be mad, I just want Raging Blast more because I am not that good at FPS games...).

4. Bleach Soul Carnival 2
Well when I saw Soul Carnival 1 on play-asia I thought "so... what kind of game is it?" because it had that stupid "action" or "adventure" or god forbid it might have had an "action adventure" genre which are all slapped on to any game people don't feel like defining into a real genre but as I saw some gameplay I found out it was a hack-and-slasher with chibi style Bleach sprites on the psp, something I could not turn a blind eye too since I am such a sucker for a good hack-and-slasher (do I use hyphens there or... oh forget it...) or beat em' up. Then I saw screenshots for the sequel I realized it started from episode one and went to... well who knows where, and so I just can't help but ask for this game for Christmas, especially since it comes out on the same day as accel 3.

3. Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3
Oh man I was hyped for this game before, but with that full roster leak I REALLY can't wait for it to come out. I am so interested in what they will do with Anbu Kakashi and now I have a replacement for EX3 when my friends come over, well actually this isn't a replacement, it's an improvement or maybe an upgrade, since this game's story mode possibly can't be as bad as EX3's (notorious for being just awful) and this game has more characters than EX3 and the very important detail, that it is IN ENGLISH! Awwww yeah, I seriously can't wait for this game, oh and did I mention the freakin Wi-Fi? Well yeah that's another way it's more superior to EX3... I also find it kind of funny that it took Japan 3 trys to get a Shippuden game like EX3 and it took America one try to top it, and we are only on Shippuden episode 5! Of course I meant no offence to Takara Tomy...

2. Little Big Planet PSP
Oh man I spent so much time swapping this game with Revolution 3 for #2 but... I guess I just came to the decision that I guess I want Little Big Planet in the palm of my hands just a little bit more than the American upgrade to EX3... Well what can I say about this game... at first I thought it was just a rumor but this game is real and it's coming out on the same day as Revolution 3, good thing I have been saving up so I can buy both on the same day (but which will I play first?). I really don't have much to say about this game... since it's just gonna be so awesome...

1. Naruto Shippuden: Accel 3
Ok this one should be obvious, I love the Ultimate Ninja series and when they finally announced a sequal to accel 2 (Ultimate Ninja 5) I was so excited, I was probably one of the only people who didn't mind that it was on the psp. When I saw the graphics I REALLY didn't mind that it was on the psp because they look better than accel 2, but then I heard that there would be no PTS characters and it made me sad that I couldn't play as Zabuza vs Suigetsu but I am over that now because I can play as kid Kakashi, Obito, Tobi, and even CS2 Future Sasuke! So with all of that and supposidly 3 story modes (normal story mode, Sasuke's story mode, and an original story mode) it is going to be awesome, especially since that original story mode looks interesting. Oh yeah and they will all be in RPG mode like Accel 2, which I was a huge fan of.

Ok so as you all know I post every other day, ect. ect... Oh and please try to spread the word of my blog.

PSP Fullscreen On My TV!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen... I introduce the Lenkeng PSP Full Screen Display Converter...
This thing will let you (as the name of the device) PLAY YOUR PSP ON A TV OR COMPUTER SCREEN, FULL SCREEN. Well it is MEANT for PC screens but if your TV has RGB (or VGA or whatever the computer screen cable is...) like most Widescreens do then it will work there too, it acutally didn't work on my Computer Screen for some reason... I got mine from http://sewelldirect.com/ and payed $6 for shipping, and well $6 shipping was 3 day delivery, so it actually came in about 3 days from when I ordered it (for 6 dollars!). Basically how this thing works is that if you hook up all of the cables included as shown in the manual, and click on the "switch" button to send the signal from your PSP through the box to where the VGA cables are hooked up, then play the game and it should look like what normal PSP AV cables look like, only taking up about 1 third of the screen, then simply press the zoom button and now it should take up all of the screen and look amazing at the same time (if anything the quality increases when you click the zoom button), if it cuts off a bit, or doesn't take up the full screen then click the Resolution Button until it fits your screen perfectly. This thing is so great that I was playing all of my PSP games for hours.

Remember I post every other day, so keep checking in, and please try to spread the word about my blog.

Top 5 Games to Play on the Go

Well I promised an actual post today and here is a new list since I am feeling better.

5. Bleach Soul Carnival (psp)
Ok, well... the reason this game is number 5 is because grinding can get a bit repetitive... but the good old slash em up style of gameplay is great when your in the car, on the bus, or in a restaurant. Oh and the music also helps when your in a place you can actually hear your headphones. I of course cannot say the same for the animated cutscenes... they aren't bad their just... uhhh... well... hmm kinda like a flash video, they look like the anime but the lip movement and hand movement is just... uhhh ok well if you have the game you know exactly what I mean.

4. Bleach Heat the Soul 6 (psp)
Well a bleach fighter with 73 characters on the go is just awesome, especially when movie characters and turn back the pendulum characters are included. Surprisingly enough if you have a Japanese PSN account you can download DLC from the Japanese PSN store, I think the DLC has something to do with S ranked or SSS ranked (if that exists) tournimants, however I only have up to A ranked tournimants.

3. Prinny (psp)
Ok remember when I said repetitivness or something back on number 5... yeah well if you are not a hardcore gamer, and I mean like someone who has beat every classic megaman game with ease, then this game is going to piss you off, it's not repetitive, in fact it's very fun but like I said EXTREMELY HARD I myself am stuck on the last boss (second form) on standard mode. Oh and yes Standard mode is the easy mode but there are only two difficulties, Standard, where you take 3 hits and Hell's Finest, where you take 1 hit... so... yes it's very hard.

2. Jump Ultimate Stars (DS)
Well, if your a Jump fan this game is great, and if you know Japanese on top of that, this is probably one of the best games to have on the go. Well, to start off if you don't know Japanese playing this game can be a bit difficult because of missions and objectives and what not. Oh and if you beat the game and got most of the objectives of the missions it might kind of get a bit boring on the go with no online play.

1. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (DS)
Ok, this game just came out and what can I say about it? Well if you want to know really just read my previous post... Anyway, it is basically what you would think but better, a Kingdom Hearts game on your DS. This game is just too good for words honastly, I really do not know at all what to say except that it is just purely awesome.

Well that concludes todays post, sorry if it seemed short but, I'm going to go back to playing 358/2 days.

Ever Wanted to Play Your Japanese Psp Games Online?

Note how I said Japanese. Do not follow these instructions unless the game you want to play is in Japanese and it is on the list in this wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adhoc_Party_for_PlayStation_Portable
Well if it is on that list then make a Japanese PSN account, as instructed in this very helpful video. Keep in mind the application called Adhoc Party is what you will be downloading and it is free so no need for credit card info stuff.

Then go into the Japanese Playstation Store and download the thing with this icon:
Now you have to have your PS3 connected to the internet with a CABLE and not wirelessly to use this app. Now put in your PSP game and make sure the wireless switch thingy is on, then go to the searching for people part of the game (usually under multiplayer) and click on the 3rd option in the ad hoc party app (keep in mind that in Japanese the circle button is ok and the x button is back. Then it should take you to worlds, so just join a world that is not full and there you go. Oh yeah and if you get a 1005 error then pick the first menu option and keep clicking the right option for ok then pick the third menu.
